Start by standing as though you are going to skip on the spot. Using one leg and the same arms on the same side raise them up until the knee is at hip height and the arm is above your head. As you reverse the movement do the same on the other side. Try and keep the motion fluid and quick, again like skipping. The action should be reminiscent to climbing a ladder. Doing both sides is one repetition.
